This is quite worrying. Even if your making your bottles with cooled boiled water, to reheat you might stand the bottle in boiling hot water!!! What a nightmare x
saw the midwife 4 the 1st time yesturday and she told me this about bottles!
something about when you put the boiling water directly in.
I was going to stop breastfeeding my baby but now i've read your posts i'm seriously considering carrying on!
i feed my son with avent bottles. does anyone know anything about them?

I read about this yesterday too - apparently the risk is increased if you pour boiling water directly into a plastic bottle, something which I know most mums (including myself) do everytime. I think it is extremely worrying that the results of the tests suggest that BPA can cause changes to behaviour, and also the mammary and prostrate glands. Still all the reports say that the risk is minimal (they all say this don't they) Jox
I have read a few reports that baby bottles may contain something called BPA which is harmful to babies. According to a US study it can cause early puberty in girls and problems with the reproductive system later in life... Apparently some stores in the US have stopped selling bottles with BPA in them and Asda are currently running a BPA free range of baby bottles. The food standards agency have insisted that baby bottles are safe but I am planning to bottle feed my baby and am very worried by these reports. Has anyone else read about this?
