Getting back to normal

I had a baby six months ago, after pregnancy bleeding for 6 ish weeks i had a normal period at the end of dec and the begining of feb and i have nothing since, i ahve just had a pregnancy test done through the doctor 2 weeks ago and it's not that, i wanted to know how long it takes for your periods to get back to normal, so i can start trying for another baby.
