I don't think any test is 100%. I chose not to have the first down syndrome test because being 20 at the time the risk is minimal anyway and it's just one less thing to worry about by not having it done. anyhoo... Lily came out perfectly healthy but slightly squished. although pregnancy is a very stressful time in your life it is or should be very exciting and alot of these tests you can have just stress you out. that's my opinion anyway. x x
I was only 19 when i was told my unborn son HAD Down syndrome. When he was born he was totally perfect and they got it completely wrong xx
mine came back 1 230 risk have i got anything to worry about
Hi,
I am mum to a healthy little boy called Joe who's nearly 2 and trying for a new baby now. When I was pregnant with Joe I had the triple blood test and got a result of 1:95 risk of Downes. This was a shock as I was 28 at the time (my husband was 43). I later found out though that my actual blood results were normal but no one could explain why we were at such high risk. We declined an amnio as felt that Downes was not a reason to terminate (for us), but it led to a very stressful pregnancy and PND. We definitely wont be having the test next time but can you explain our previous high risk please? Thankyou
Hi
I have no idea about these tests but all i know is that i will never bother as like yourself downes is not a reason to terminate for us but i have a friend who had all the test done for this and they all came back normal but when she gave birth to her son he was downes..so the tests failed her, and she was only in her very early 20's i believe... so i think when it comes to that i would rather not have any...
