My 13 week old daughter has been playing up big time when we go out and I have to use the pram. I decided to change from buggy to pram 2wks ago when she began to cry every time i used the buggy - I assumed it was because she wanted to see what was going on and where she was going as she is very alert. I'm now having the same problem with the pram - I have tried facing her towards me and away from me -I've tried letting her cry - but after 20 mins and my baby getting frantic I have to lift her out - at which point she promptly stops crying. Please help!!! She is breastfed...

So many people now days use a sling and why not, it looks really cosy. If I were a baby I would prefer a cuddle with my mum to being stuck in a chshchair/pram. I breast fead all 3 of mine, first one for 6 weeks, second one for 5 months and third one for 4 weeks. I found that with my second he is far more highly strung and more impatient, I do think there is something in the idea that the whole "feed on damand" can make those babies a little more damanding in other aspects in life. You have 2 choices: stick to your guns and see it out, lets face it she will get used to it eventually or get a sling and enjoy those cuddles before she becomes too independent. It really doesn't last long so make the most of it, my daughter is now 15 months and is constantly on the go, I would love for to want more cuddles but she is far too busy. No stage lasts for ever, and I remind myself of that every time a new and sometimes hard stage comes along. She will not go off to school in a sling now will she :-)
I say let the clever little bunny see what ever she wants too and enjoy it as best you can while you can, my eldest starts senior school in sept and I can barely get him to acknowledge me in public ;-)
Best of luck Dawn x

when my son was born i used a pram for a wee while but then changed to having him in a baby carrier wherever i went, he loved it as not only did he feel happy and content being so close and snuggled up to me he could see what was going on around him.perhaps the reason your baby stops crying when you lift her out is simply because she needs the comfort of being close to you? my son was also breastfeed so was used to being so close and snuggly.

Hi, sounds like a bit if a nightmare for you! Could it be that now she can see so much more perhaps she's a litle overstimulated? I know my friend had a simialr problem with her little boy and had to block out all stimulus to calm him down. If feeding clams her down you could try one of those slings that allows her to feed whenever she wants to, i've never used one so don't know what they're like though....
