After I bath my daughter i put baby oil on her but in the last few days she has started screaming (with no build up just a sudden cry after just smiling and being happy) just as i start putting it on. I make sure she is warm, and I haven't changed the product I use (mothercares little softies). I don't understand what is wrong with her. It might just be because I've taken her out of the bath which is her favourite time of day but it seems weird that she would start crying after I've dried her and that it is at the same point each day. could she have suddenly developed an allergy or something?
hiya, it made my little girls skin go a bit red so i stopped using it straight away, i dont use any products just bath stuff just to be on the safe side as i suffer from eczema myself and im terrible with most creams/lotions n oils. my midwife told me to use olive oil for her dry skin its not pleasant but it did the job! it cleared up after a few weeks, she was overdue and apparently overdue babies can be very dry :) hope this helps :) i agree with mindylou even johnsons isnt as sensitive as you may be led to believe!!! ems xxx take care xx
No, but it doesn't seem to work as well as it used to, her skin on her tummy is a bit dry and the HV said to put it on after every nappy change.
Hi, does her skin go red? Or does she scratch herself at all? My son is allergic to oil and it doesn't matter if it's supposed to be for babies as Johnson's products are not as mild as you might think. If her skin goes red take her to the doctors as it could be irritating her and you'll be able to get special oils and creams for sensitive skin/eczema.
