My daughter Maryam is 24 weeks old, until recently she used to sleep through the night. I have started weaning her but it doesn't seem to help she still wakes up at 5am! She tends to go to sleep at 9pm with drinking 6oz of milk, if the bottle has come out of her mouth she refuses to accept it again. What shall I do? I feel like she doesnt sleep enough.
Wow, this past year has been interesting. Our One year old still is getting up at least one time per night. She usually goes to be around 9/9L30pm and can get up between 12-5pm at least once, it is not unusually though for her to get up 2-3 times per night. She wakes up , drinks anywhere from a couple of onces to a whole bottle. The other night she was up at 3-3;30, 4;15 and then up at 5am falling back to sleep around 7am. Her night time schedule is off. My husband and I take turns getting up with her so this is helpful.
I have to boys age 15 and 13 and while I remember getting up and breastfedding them when they were younger, I honestly don't think that they were even close to this.
My husband doesn't want to let her cry, but I always wake up at the slightist cry.
I really think this is due to the household schedule being off with different people watching her during the day.
Oddly, I do enjoy holding her at night, cuddling up to me, but I'm in my 40's now and sleep would be nice.
One part of me thinks that I cherish this time with her, but then I am concerned about setting long term habits.
Sleepy in Ohio.
I must be really lucky. Our 13 week old has been sleeping through since from 8pm til 6am since 10 weeks!!
yeah my 5 month old son has been sleeping thru since about 14 weeks. he now sleeps 8pm till 8am every nite! i think if they have had enough 2 eat n drink thru the day they will sleep thru!xx
Olliver is 8 months, and we put him to bed at 8pm, with a 60z feed inside him, he will sleep till around 11pm (we used to give him a dream feed but stopped as he was still waking up a few hours later) and want a drink, then about 3am, then wakes up at 6.30am. we have tried everything to get him to go through the night, he has lots of playtime, has a bath before bed, has 3 solid meals a day. We may try to offer a few sips of watered down feed and see how we get on. I dont mind at all but just worried in case we are doing something wrong :-
hi i have the same problem with my 6 month old son,i've been told he's putting on weight fine and is a happy baby so not worry and he'll sleep through when he's ready.

my little girl is 8 weeks old and I have been following the Gina Ford Contented little baby book routine, except the 1030 dream feed and she goes to bed at 7 and then anywhere between 10-12 and then she wakes up at 3 or 4 but only takes 20 mins to settle each time, so don't feel too exhausted and think she will be sleeping through soon! I think the routine has really helped, I did do the dream feed for a week but found she was waking 3 times a night instead of just once or twice. If anyone is really struggling, I do really recommend reading her plan for breast or bottle fed babies. It also really helps keep them content during the day! Good luck to all mums, I am sure we will look back in a couple of years and wish we had our time with them again, no matter how little we sleep!
My little girl is 15mths old and is still not in a good bed time routine !! her cot is still in our bedroom and she still wakes in the night crying i am at work full time so for a bit of sleep for my self and my husband i put her in bed with us i can't see any harm in it as long as we all sleep !!!
My little girl Ruby sleeps five hours before she wakes now (she's 3 months old) occasionally we have the odd night were she sleeps through. I think it helps start a routine really early, bed at 6pm, cuddles with mum/dad for 5 minutes and a book or song and off she goes! Or am i one of those lucky mums!!!!
