Hi I work for The Body Shop at Home, in a similar capacity to the Usborne books only dealing with skincare, make-up, fragrances etc. I started in December last year when Violet was 8 weeks old and became area manager in May, it meant I could give up my other job as a childminder which was so tiring it's untrue (think 7 months pregnant, 50 hours a week, 5 minded children plus my own 2 year old!!)
Anyway you do work on commission (25%) and you can do either parties or go to businesses like the bookman does or both depending on how much you want to earn. The bonuses are really good as well, especially coming up to Christmas you can imagine how much people spend at this time of year!!
We are recruiting at the moment and like the other companies you are self-employed so work as and when you want and don't have anybody else to answer to so if anyone does want more information let me know and I will send it on to you.

I have been talking to my fella about this for a while now. I am not yet pregnant but you have to think about the future dont you?! I do not want to go back to the place Iam now P/T or F/T. I want to work from home but unsure what to do...I wanted to set up my own business but thought that would be too hard with the accounts etc. Id like to be a childminder but then I also am unsure...any help & ideas welcome! x

i would really like to childmind but have no idea as to what qualifications i would have to gain to do it - if any? i've already been a "nanny" a few years back for my brother and sister in law for 5 boys at the time so i know i can handle a larger amount of children and like you think it would be nice for my daughter to have others to interact with! Also i was wondering do you have to have a certain "standard" of home? as at present i live in a one bed first floor flat of which i'm hoping to move out of pretty soon....hopefully....if it will sell!

thanks for that. I think i'll try working mums. :-D x
the working mums website is really good i have posted my cv on there and have had a few calls and telephone interviews it the only site i can find that isnt a scam if you find any more please let me know.
i would be really interested in this too. I have been looking into it for a while and it appears to be alot of scams out there. One i am interested in is doing parties for a company called The Keepsake Company, you do have to pay to become a consultant with them but you appear to be able to chose your own hours and its mostly comission based. You are selling baby keepsakes like, a cast of baby's foot or hand.
The other thing i found yesterday was www.workingmums.co.uk
They have lots of jobs advertised in various areas and alot of them are home based. I personally havent found anything on there yet, but there may be something suitable for you. Hope it goes well, I will keep an eye on your chat as I am interested too, or if you find anything, please feel free to email me.

I really would like to work from home, but i don't know where to start. I've looked into the catalogue industry but they don't seem to pay enough as u have to sell loads before you recieve any money and usually thats to spend with them.
Does anyone else know any good homeworking jobs?
