Hi there, I have just come out of hospital at 33 weeks as my baby decided it was going to try and come early and my contractions started etc, anyway they managed to stop them and I'm home now. While I was in there they did a scan as thought my baby was big and noticed that it was breech. They reassured me that this was quite normal at this stage and that it would turn but just wondered if anyone had any good tips on how to get it to turn? Thanks very much Jo

It is quite normal for a baby to be in the breech position at 33 weeks, by
36-38 weeks most have turned and are lying head down ready to be born. There
is very little research to support any of the 'tips' to help your baby turn
but essentially you have nothing to loose by trying them. A common one is to
go on to all fours and lower your head down maybe resting it on your hands
so your bottom is the highest point; some people advocate doing this for
about 10 mins twice a day. Some people try acupunture but I have to stress
that there is no evidence to fully support these methods. I would personally
recommend that you do not worry too much about it, you will be having
another couple of antenatal checks before 38 weeks so there is plenty of
time for baby to turn.
