It is impossible to be certain in advance about when an individual baby
will start to crawl. Some are very motivated to get moving, perhaps to
reach something that has caught their eye. Others are happy to stay at the
rolling stage for a while longer.
It doesn’t sound as though you have bumpers on the side of the cot, but
these can be really helpful in preventing feet going through, so you might
want to consider putting some on there. You can’t really stop a baby this
age, who is active, moving around in his sleep, but you could use the cot
bumpers or think about putting him in a little all-in-one sleeping bag so
that his feet are securely tucked inside and could not go through the cot
bars. You might find this sets your mind at rest.
It might reassure you to know cots are very carefully designed to strict
safety standards, taking into account the behaviour of lots of babies and
it is unlikely that he would hurt himself by putting his feet through as
they can easily be pulled back.
ello! iv put the cot bumpers along the railings to stop my son from putting his feet thru! hes been rollin arnd for ages! hes nearly 9mths but not crawling jus yet! i reckon in the next 2 weeks he'll ave mastered it! hes nearly there! gets on all fours! then goes backwards! lol x
hiya, my 23week old can completely roll over now onto his tummy, does mean he will start crawling soon? Also cos he is so active, always rolling over etc when he's in his cot he gets both feet out in between the gaps of the rails/bars and im so scared he'll hurt his feet or something, as i sometimes find him sideways or diagonally in his cot, how do i stop it or is it just a normal baby thing?
