He may be teething- some children start to cut teeth this early- but there are other reasons why babies become unhappy at this age. Is he more likely to cry in the evening? Is he difficult to console? Does he pull his knees up to his body? If so he may have colic.

My 9 week old son has started to dribble and seems to chomp on his fist and has become very hard to settle, and screams quite a bit - I have tried some teething gel, think he could be starting to teeth, but I am not sure, and can't remember what happened with his older brother who is now 6 - any advice/suggestions?
My son is 10 weeks old now and he is going through exactly the same, What i've done is got Dentinox or calpol teething gel because some teething gels they can't have so young. I would try it, its brill it nums their gums and he goes straight to sleep now and i've only been using it for 2 days.
yeah they sound like the signs!! lol! he may not get them come thru just yet tho! he can prob feel them moving arnd in his gums! i use anbesol for his gums! fab stuff, u ave to ask for it over the counter its £2.99 lasts ages! i swear by it!!
Hiya, my son had 2 teeth through before he was 4 months so he could possibly be starting to teeth, although my son had no bother with his teeth coming through which was lucky coz when they are that young they don't really know to chew on teething rings etc! just keep going with the gel xx
hia, those are classic signs of teeth coming through, my son is now 24weeks old and his been dribbling and chewing, gnawing and sucking his fists and fingers for about 2months now, but no teeth yet. Your son can definatly start to feel his teeth coming through. Hense the chomping and dribbling.
