Hi Becky, I am a single mum...... twice over!! My eldest daughter has just turned 3 and my new baby girl is 10wks old. It is a case of deja vu for me, I know how overwhelmed you must be feeling as it is damn tough going on your own. Please don't hide your feelings as they will only get more difficult to cope with and may hamper your bond and enjoyment of your daughter.... these are precious times and they change and grow so quickly.
I am still finding it hard and this is my second experience of being "left holding the baby" especially as I have no family close by and most my friends seem tied up with their own lives. If you have people around to offer help and support, ask them to come round and give you a break even to just pop to the shops or have a manicure, it is not a sign of weakness and you should feel revitalised afterwards. i wish i had more people to call upon so take advantage if you're in a better situation. im not a single mum now but i was with my first and i was 18.
it is hard and you will need help. night feeds on your own with no help can get you really down.
if you think you have PND speak to your doctor right away, dont hide it from poeple your friends and family can help.
asking for help doesnt make you a bad mum.

with tips on coping on ure own, sleep when the baby sleeps, still go out with your mates just go somewhere you can take the baby like shopping, the park (even though she just sits in her pram) you can still be you and have a giggle with your mates.
