I dont want to rub things in here now but my little one has slept through from about 3/4 weeks old. I started him in a routine (SORRY CAPS LOCK ON N CANT TURN OFF!) AT 3 WKS WUD PUT HIM DOWN ABOUT 10ISH THEN DO NEXT FEED WITH DIMMED LIGHTS IN BEDROOM, SAME AT NEXT ONE IF IT WASNT DAYLIGHT HE WENT ABOUT 5-6 HRS AT 1ST BUT IS NOW DOING 12HRS SOLID AT NITE BATH OR NOT! PEOPLE MIGHT THINK IM LUCKY WIV A GUD BABY WHICH HE IS BUT MY FRIEND DID THE SAME WIV HER 2 - WHERE I LEARNT IT FRM WHICH SEEMS 2 B GOOD PRACTICE!! DOESNT MATTER IF I BATH MY SON OR NOT BUT HE KNOWS NOW 7 THEN HES READY 4 BED HIMSELF EVEN IF IM NOT!! HAVE YOU TRIED GIVING THE LAST FEED AFTER BED/BATHTIME ROUTINE THAT WAY THEY KNOW FEED THEN BED X
thanks so much, the last two nights have been ok, she woke up twice at 3 and at 7 to feed but i think this is mostly due to the that fact that she didn't eat that much for dinner. i have her sleeping on a sofa bed in her room as she refuses to sleep in her crib, my husband seems to think that its because she finds the matress hard although we have doubled it, it still did not help. i am so much bothered about were she sleeps so long as she does but we off to buy a cot(hopefully she uses it) at the weekend. i think she just likes the bed and not being restricted.
Back at work, how are you finding that?
Being back at work somedays its ok and others it is hard, i leave owen with my mum and know he is in safe hands. The nights hat he didn't sleep and ended uo with us were awful, get a cot bed that are bit bigger than cots and more space plus the matresses are softer. Try leaving her to cy herself to sleep. Is she eating baby food or still on bottles, if shes still on bottles try giving her a rusk mixed with her milk that'll fill her up and help her settle
my little one is 10 months and he still wasnt sleeping through until 2 nights ago when we decided to get tough!!! were doing the controlled crying, we let him cry for 5 mins then go in calm him down and leave again do same thing again about 3 - 5 times(I know is tears at your heart hearing them scream) but need to be strong, in the end after leaving him to cry for 15 mins he decided it wasn't worth it and went to sleep on his own. I know its hard, im up at 6 to get ready for work everyday and the first few days are so hard but they need to learn the soothe themsleves to sleep.

hi there! try givin her her bottled milk last not breast milk! it may jus do the trick! we tried this technique wiv my best friends lil girl n it worked! hope this helps u!!
My little on is six and a half months and is still not sleeping through the night, never sleeps during the day unless in the car and refuses to sleep in her crib.
i have been following a strict routine for about a month and still there had been no change. she is in bed for 8.30 after a winding down session starting at 7 which consists of dinner with a bottle of milk, 30 mins to allow food to settle. a warm bath and story and then a final topup pf breast milk followed by bed.
once in her crib she will wake within an hour, we gently pat her down to sleep of which she sleeps for a further 2 hrs after whuch she wakes and cries for hrs on end until she is finally in my bed.
i wake up tired in the morning and unless i nap with her in the afternoon she refuses to sleep.
What can i do to get her to sleep
