We went for a 20wk scan for r first child in october last year, and although the scan is 2 measure da baby an make sure everything is ok we cud ask if we wanted 2 no which we did an was told we was havin a little girl an we did in march this year now im pregnant again an due for my 20wk scan in 4wks time an were guna ask again the sex of r baby.
hi ya! yes i had 2 pay for mine was £75!! rip off eh!! was amazing though!! that was last year, this year the hospital is now telling people so dont have to pay!! typical eh!! i had to contact baby bonds to get my sex scan, i have to say the pics were so clear, it really was amazing! xx

I really can't understand why hospitals differ so much! I think if the parents want to know then why shouldnt they be told as long as they understand its not 100% accurate! In my local hospital there is a a woman that is always letting slip what the baby is even if the parents don't want to know!! (glad we didn't get her as we didn't wanted it to be a surprise!)
we get 12 week scan 20 week scan in cardiff and 36 week if planning home birth we can ask at the 20 week scan to find out the sex but they cant be 100 % I paid for a baby bond scan £240 for full 4d scan with dvd and picters. I loved it and i though money well worth it

Hi, I live in Bedford and they do let you know the sex of the baby at the 20 week scan. However down the road in Luton they do not. A lot of people around here do shop around for their maternity care so they can find out. Seems a bit mad to me. The reason they don't tell people they say is a culteral thing. However those that desperately want to can go to the same hosp and pay to be told.

My midwife informated me yesterday that when I have my 20 week scan they would not tell me what the sex the baby was, but that I could pay to have this done privately. I just wondered if anyone has done this and if so how much it costs?

hi, i had this scan done at 19 weeks and it cost me £75 with a company called 'Babybond'. I live in Scotland and you don't get a 20 week scan which in my opinion is awful. Therefore i was desparate to see my baby again after the scan i had at 10 weeks.
