paternity leave...?

Hi, I'm living in Ireland and my partners work told him that he can have 14 weeks off paternity.... he just wont get paid for it!! thats kinda rediculous, but theres nothing he can do apparently thats how it works over here.
are you sure he doesn't claim the money back off the benefits department?

yeah i know my other half gets 2 weeks when i finally have my lil one but its only statutory

In most places paternity leave is 2 weeks at the same rate of statutory maternity pay. Rubbish! x

yeh were doing good !! due saturday! so less than a week and counting. i looked up paternity leave and its 2 weeks no pay... didnt sound right to me... x

Where I work, the guys get two weeks full pay, where hubby works, he has to take it as statutory paternity with is rubbish!x

Men get 2 weeks, you don't have to take it but unless you have a very nice work you don't get more then two weeks. Not sure how you claim the money but its not much. How's u? Not long to go now!!
