Hey Everyone, My little boy will be 3 in October, at home he is very well behaved however when we take him out anywhere he will not walk beside us. He constantly runs on ahead and will not listen when i ask him to stop and walk beside me.(although he will never go far enough to lose sight of) I've tried everything like showing/telling him about other little boys and girls walking nice with their mummies, i've even tried to tell him about 'the bad men' that take little ones away if they go away from their parents (not to scare him, but to make him see that its important). I feel hes getting too old to be constantly in a buggy and used to use straps. He also tends to kick up a fuss any time i take him in somewhere to get some lunch etc. Maybe i expect too much of him but i want him to sit up and eat his dinner but he kicks up a fuss unless he gets to run about which i don't think is acceptable when other people are eating and i can't enjoy my own lunch for trying to watch what he is doing. Hes able to climb out of a high chair so this doesn't help! Everytime we go out somewhere we either end up going home early coz hes misbehaved or i get so wound up because i feel that people are looking at me as if to say 'can she not control her own child'!! He will squeal and cry at the top of his voice until he gets what he wants and then i feel completely showed up! Any ideas how i can get him to settle down or am i just going to have to wait to the so called 'terrible twos' end (even tho i thought we were already over them!) lol Thanks! Karen xx
