My 10 month old baby won't keep his sleeping bag on- he pulls the poppers open on his shoulders and wriggles out of it. Besides him getting cold, I also think this could be quite dangerous as he will then chew on the zip. I can't tuck him in with blankets as he pushes himself straight out of them and he doesn't stay in one place in the cot, he sleeps all over the place! Does anybody have any similar problems or any ideas on how I can ensure that he doesn't get cold at night? Or does anybody know if I can buy a sleeping bag that doesn't fasten on the shoulders?

Hiya I bought a sleeping bag that is just zipped up the front I think I got it from Amazon. My little one is exactly the same but has now started to stand up at the cot. I wasn't putting her in a bag cos of the hot weather but I think I will start to again in the hope that she'll stop standing up, she hasn't managed to develop the art of sitting back down once she's on her feet and therefore cries. I'll double check the label on my sleeping bag but I'm sure its a gro bag one.
Thank-you for your help. I stitched the shoulders together on the ones I've got but I will need warmer ones for the winter. Glad they do ones that fasten down the middle as my sewing skills are not too good!!

Tesco do some that fasten down the front, we got one from there for our little girl and they are alot cheaper than the other types, also try marks and spencers and sainsburys xx

You could try a baby snuggler to help keep him warm, it's like a baby grow crossed with a sleeping bag. So it is lightweight but would help.

And yes, you can get the sleeping bags without shoulder poppers but they are hard to come by.
