Hello I've been asked to attend a meeting in Finland with work. It's over two days and I'll be 24 weeks when I'm flying. The guielines recommend that you do not fly after 28 weeks, but I'm still a little concerned. Has anyone else flown at 24 weeks? Any advice / opinions on whether I should go all welcomed. Thanks ladies :-)

I have just returned from a 3 week holiday in Florida I was 23 weeks when we went out and gone 26 weeks when we flew back. I was worried too but as it turned out going I didn't feel a thing from the baby until after we landed. But coming back the baby was moving and kicking the whole flight home (8hours!!) Make sure you warn the airline before you fly as they like to know if a passenger is pregnant whilest flying. Hope this helps.

i flew at 26 and 27 weeks. I got a free upgrade while on the plane cos i kept having to put my legs in the aisle to get comfortable, so the air hostess asked me if me and me mum would like to move so i had more space.

Hi. Last year I flew to Portugal at 24 weeks and 26 weeks for the return. Everything was fine. Just remember to drink plenty of fluids, your ankles and feet will swell more that normal so wear comfortable shoes, take a walk around the aircraft and wear comfy clothes. I was also allowed to not go through the metal detecter (you never know). They just gave me a pat down search instead.

You can usually fly up to 34 weeks, I'm going to visit my family in September (funnily enough- flying to Bristol!) and I'll be 28 weeks by then, I have to have a fit-to-fly letter from the midwife but other than that there is no problem. Check with the airline on their idividual policies and mention it to your midwife but I can't see that there would be a problem!
