Hiya

This may take a while to see any effects but have you tried not bathing your baby every day (do it every second day) and do not use anything on their skin, only baby shampoo on their hair. I do this with my son and have never have any problems with dry skin. But I am only assuming that your baby has slightly dry skin. you could try it. I would not even use oil. Use somethign like E45 on the drier areas.

both my twin boys got very dry skin in the first few weeks after every wash down or bath we used johnsons oil gell which kept their skin moist we also got recommended eczema moisturiser for babies by the GP which you can get from the supermarket and that helped clear it up aswell we dont have to use anything anymore as it seemed to do the trick. hope thats any help.

Hi, my baby boy had a similar thing only it did not clear up until the doctor recommended Dermol for his skin which did the job. You can buy Dermol but if the dry skin doesnt clear up soon then go and see your doctor and see if he can recommend something or if he will give you a prescription for Dermol. Hope it clears up soon.

hi there, yes it is normal, my baby girl is now 4 months old and shes had phases of it ever since she was born. She was especially bad though in her first few weeks and i used to ask the midwifes about it, i used to bath her and cover her in olive oil- but still re-appeared the next morning. It just seems to dye down on it sown really, but i would still carry on with rubbing oil on your sons skin, i used olive oil and that seemed to work ok? As she got a bit older i started to use lotion as she got some quite rough skin areas on her knees and elbows and the lotion worked a treat. its almost like they are shedding isnt it! Hope this helps you, Leah
