At what age do i start weening? I have been given so much conflicting advice.
i started weaning both my sons at 13 weeks as they were both ready,suckin their fists,watchin us eat,dribbling...they r all signs they're ready! everyone says different,u no ur baby better than anyone.they r both perfectly healthy n love their food. my 5 month old son is now on 3 homemade meals a day as well as approx 25-30 oz milk a day n sleeps 12 hours a nite without wakin. i dont have any regrets on startin them early xx
I was told not before 17wk but recommended 6 months but u cant always wait till 6 months coz sum babys get hungrier than others i started weanin my daughter at 4 an a half months mainly coz she was only takin around 3oz out of a 6oz bottle so i had no other way 2 get her 2 eat apart from food, so really it all depends on wether u think ur babys ready 4 food or not if i hold my daughter while i eat a sandwich she grabs it an tries 2 eat it its so funny wen they eat, sum ov da faces they pull r so amusin.
be guided by your baby, they like us are all different, years ago it used to be 4 months thats why the jars etc say from 4 months, now we are told 6 months so theyre systems are able to take more, but each child is different, watch them when you eat etc if they are really interested try them with a tiny amount of rice or smooth puree, if they seem hungry ie cry more than normal, dont sleep as well, want extra milk feeds try them again, i started my daughter at about 4 and half months she was so interested in our food, trying to grab it all time etc, watching every forkfull go into our mouths and physically drooling when she saw our plates lol it was worse than having a dog, she took to it straight away, some dont but if it doesnt suit just stop and try again another time

Hi there, I know it's so confusing. My little boy is now nearly six months and he's on solids. We weaned him with a little bit of baby rice for breakfast at about 14 weeks because he was so hungry, his bottles weren't filling him. Everyone says not to start until at least 6 months but you should go with your baby. If your little one looks ready try some baby rice and if it doesn't work you can always try again later. How old is your baby?
