hello there.. i thought id post as there are a few scenarios i know of i thought i could share with you all...

Firstly my mum is 52... my auntie- (is more like my big sis and i love her lots).. is 30
Myself, i have roughly 2 yrs between all my kids.
My brother is 3 yrs older than me, my sister is 6 yrs younger than me.
My lads freind at school- (they are both nine)i thought was an only child as i never saw him with siblings- untill i got chatting one day and found out tht his sister was 25- the others are something like 19 and 22..

Personally an age gap can sometimes be something tht is taken out of your control.. for example- a mum at the school near me has a daughter who is 9,.. her younger two children are 20 mths and 5 months old.. this is because she had fertilty problems after her first baby.. not everyone can have the option of chosing an age gap between siblings.
What we need to remember though is tht this is a personal opinion.. if you want big age gaps than have them.. if you want small age gaps.. than go for it!.. a happy family is all tht matters and age after all... is just a numberxxxxxxxx

Hi, I have a 7 year old and a 13month old. Quite a big gap, she loves to help ot with Dillon, although it's not really much help. lol. It's nice to see how much she cares for him. I think the next one will have a smaller age gap (fingers crossed) as i think it wold be nice to have children of a similar age who can play together more. xx

hiya, i have a 19 month old and im 14 weeks preg with my 2nd, so if i go full term with this 1 (my son was prem) then there be 2 years n just over a month between em. my boyfriends mum has him , hes 22 this month, a 20 year old and then a 3 nearly 4 year old. my mums youngest is 2 nearly 3 year old twins. i think its great ur older kids can help out and cus there old enough u can let them take the baby out and give u sum much needed rest :) doesnt matter how big or small the gap kids are great and so much fun :) xxxx

Glad to hear that Im not the only one. I have a son of 13 and a 15 week old daughter. My son adores her and is very willing to help, she already idolises her big brother as she sees him as her own personal entertainer! It is hard to balance the needs of two different ages but hard as it is you have to find time to spend with both of them together and seperately. We have just started family night on fridays where we do something my son enjoy with no school to worry about. Good luck!

hey i think its great that you have older kids. do they help ya out much???? my wee girl will be 4 when i have this next 1, dunno how she will react to it coz its only been me and her and now there is gona be some1 else taking up my time lol xx
ya little girl will be fine, shes got you, she may well be jealous to start with but with reasurance she will find her level and probably really enjoy being the older sister and helping, do my older ones help much lol now theres a question, initially my 15yrr old thought it would be a good money maker ie if i watch the baby it will cost you ££££££ that was until i pointed out that i would have to charge for various things i did for her too ie taxi fares to your riding lesson lol ( round 1 to mum) shes got better now but is still not keen on helping mainly because it means taking your eyes from the pc lol
