The best thing i bought was a feeding cushion. Its in the shape of a v and it helps when feeding baby, its gives your arms a rest while feeding, my little boy sleeps on his now and loves cuddling it while sleeping.
I would definitely recommend a Grobag ( sleeping bag thingy). If you have the right size then you do not worry about baby shuffling down under the coverws. Good also if baby wakes at night as you can pick them up and settle them, and they are still in their nice warm grobag.
The originak Grobags are about £25, but lots of baby shops do their own versions that are probably a bit cheaper.
Good luck!
I heard somewhere that its best to have 6 bottles, just so its easier when it comes to making feeds and sterilising. I was also advised to stockpile nappies!! Can never have too many of them apparently lol so its always usefull to get a pack of nappies and wipes each time u go shopping. Things like sudacream and babywash r good to get now aswell, most places sell the baby oil and baby wash for a pound. Ive been told by so many ppl not to buy loads of clothes cuz u get loads bought 4 u, so weve jst bought a few newborn sizes then loads in 0-3, a few in 3-6 and a couple in 9-6. Btw bouncers r a godsend, my friend had 1 4 her little boy and if he started crying she'd put him in his bouncer an turn the vibration setting on and he'd shut up straight away!! I'll definately be investing in 1 of them! Good luck! x x x

Hi!
i'm 24 weeks pregnant with my first baby and am so confused as to what we need to buy for our little monkey. i would like to keep it to a minimum and to only buy things that we will definately need, as the little extra luxury items can come later when we have more money.
we've so far got our travel system (inc car seat), moses basket, baby bath, sterliser, 4 x bottles (as 3 were included with the steriliser), bottle warmer, bottle insulating bag, baby monitor.
please help cos everyone is telling me different things, my mother-in-law just resents everything we buy as she didnt have them in her day!, and she thinks that we should buy everything from a car boot sale or go without!!!! and others are saying that i need loads of stuff!
Please help
im onto baby 5 and sorted out what i think are essentials with money been a struggle dont want too much
i think as long as you have a cot sterilizer and bottles and travel system they dont even have to be expensive ones you will have what you need a cot bed is a good investment as you wont need to buy a bed for baby in a couple years 4 bottles seems enough breast feeding obviously youd need less 2 changes of bedding for the cot and a few blankets or a baby growbag if you have these youve got the basics any other things are extras nice to have but youll probably find wont get used too much or for too long
a play gym an dbouncy chair ar egood to have as baby will have something to play on and sit in as you potter around but neither are must haves they just make it easier for baby to be amused when he/she is awake
best of luck and dont worry what other people say get what you like and want and enjoy your baby
