Was just wondering if anyone has any advice as to which to buy a cot or a cot bed. Cot beds seem very expensive, are they really worth it?

Hi. My daughter has been in her cotbed since she was 5 weeks old and has always been fine. We were given the cotbed so just had to buy a mattress for it. I would definitely recommend buying a brand new mattress if you've been given a cot or cotbed and Babies R Us aren't too expensive for these. xx

Hi I got my cotbed 9 years ago for my first child. He was in it from 5 weeks and only came out of the bed at 2 1/1 becuase no. 2 came along. He was in it from 4 weeks and when converted into a bed he was in it until he was 4 years old. No. 3 is now in it and has been since he was 4 weeks old. He loves the space. I also feel it preparted all 3 for the travel cot which is bigger than a normal cot.

Hi, I've got a cotbed for my little boy who is 22 weeks. He's been in it since he was 4 weeks and he will use until he's about 5 yrs. I got mine from Babies R Us it only cost £99 but it's now on sale for £79:99. It was really easy to put up and very sturdy.
Hope this helps Nicki x
Great! Was talking to my sister in law last night and she said i could have hers for free! Looks like it'll be cheap after all!

im personally opting for a normal cot but i know most of my freinds have a cotbed and it takes at least 9 months for them to get into it due to one of my friends having a swinging crib or moses basket so i guess it's just down to opinion i like the feeling of having a normal cot but ...but if you're worried about the price ikea have some lovely ones that range from £60-£100 which isnt bad at all considering the price of most of them!i'm lucky and have my cot from when i was a baby to pass through yet again another member of my family so do whatever you feel like you want xxx
Thanks will definitely have a look in ikea when the time comes. How's the pregnancy going? Boy or girl?
