i know this is an old post. your baby needs to sit unsupported for about half an hour to move to a forward facing carseat. its to make sure that their neck and spine are strong enough. some say that a baby should stay in a rear facing seat till they are a year old. Im coming up with the same problem with my 9 month old. hes over 22lbs but cant sit unaided long enough yet.

Hi, I have a 5 1/2 month old who weighs 9.7kg or 21lb, m problem is that his current car seats weight limit is 10kg. Is it ok to then put him in a forward facing one or is he still too young, he is able to sit unsupported for a short time.
