Feeding & Food

Hi there

Can anyone please please help me, my little girl is 10 weeks old. I have breast fed since birth, she has was born a healthy weight ten pounds eleven, but was recently in hospital with reflux for which she is taking medicine. Her reflux along with a mild tongue tie has created probs with irrataility and breast feeding etc.
I am trying desperately to introduce a bottle with either expressed milk or aptamil milk, but she will not take at all. We have tried Avent, Tommee Tippee, Dr Brown bottles, cups!! She did take a bottle a few weeks ago but when we were going through introducing this her reflux flaired up and she has now refused a bottle. We often have her in tears screaming the place down. Any tips please i am really at my wits end. I am happy to combine brest and bottle for a while or is it best not to confuse her and just replace feeds day by day by really pushing bottle on her until she is on bottles only?
I have not been out of the house without her in ten weeks,i am starting to make excuses to my partner not to go out with him as i just want to stay at home with my baby as i am with her 24/7.It is causing stress between me and my partner as i am scared we are upsetting her too much as she really stresses out when he tries the bottles, i have told him that i will just stay in with her and just breast feed. I know thats what mother hood is al about but i would like to my partner to take turns/have some time out .I am back to work in December and cannot continue as we are, I would really really appreciate any help..
Thank you
xx

Hi ! Don't know if anyone has any suggestions, but I have a 13 month old son and I'm trying to get him off his bottle and onto a beaker. During the day he'll drink his water from a beaker, (not always brilliantly, but he will use it) however, when it comes to his morning and evening milk feeds he's having none of it and will only take his bottle - Has anyone experienced anything similar ??? Any ideas how to get him off his bottle completely ???

Hi, my daughter is 16 weeks now and my health visitor has advised me to start her with baby rice as she has not gained as much weight as she should have!!So for the las five days I have tried to give her baby rice but she flat out refuses to eat it!!May seem like a silly question but is it ok to try her with some pureed veg or fruit??or does it have to be baby rice that they eat first??

Hi, I have a 16month girl (nearly 17months) and I am wondering when I should stop giving her milk? She gets a bottle in the morning and at bedtime (approx 500ml/day). She drinks from a beaker during the day (water or juice) and I brush her teeth before she goes to bed. Should I give her milk in her beaker in during the day instead?

Hi there,

My daughter is turning one next month but she still won't take any lumps in her solids, when I try and introduce lumps and they are the tiniest they can be she will just gag and vomit. She doesn't like any knew tastes and will only have baby cereal and smooth custard, I've tried slowly introducing lumpier food but it hasn't worked, I've tried mixing in new foods in her cereal but she will keep the food in her mouth for 5 minutes then spit it out!! I have also tried giving her finger foods but she seems to think they are toys and starts playing with them, if anyone has any ideas or advice it would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks so much xx

My daughter Rhiannon is 13 months old (14 months on the 25th September) and is starting to worry me as it seemed she marked turning one with going off her food. She refuses to eat baby food and tries eating my food but then when I offer it to her she won't eat it. I'm still breast feeding her but on a daily basis she seems to only eat baby breakfasts, toast and scrambled egg, waffles, yoghurt, Organix crisps and biscuits, rice cakes and Biscotti biscuits.

She seems to be healthy enough and happy but I don't want her to end up malnourished from not having a balanced diet. It was so much easier when she ate baby food as I new she was getting plenty of vegetables and nutrients!
