It sounds like your little one might possibly have a touch of 'reflux'. It's extremely common, but your little one will grow out of it. My 11-weeker is suffering this at the moment. His behaviour is the same, and has been prescribed Infant Gaviscon by his doctor. This definitely seems to be helping. It's a powder in a sachet added to each bottle of formula. We're also on Aptamil 2, still putting on weight well, but very uncomfortable when feeding. Worth a mention to the health visitor or doctor for a look into?
I've only heard of Aptamil in good terms, have you tried using Infacol or something similar. My community midwife recommended using infacol with every feed from the start. My son's had odd bouts of bad wind but thats all. Try using tactics to distract him such as singing nursery rhymes, anything can help even rubbing his tummy might be having some success.
Early on babies can take a while to feed but he does sound as if he's very windy either above or below or maybe both. What feed is he on???
He is on Aptamil which i am told is the best and closest to Breast milk - he is very windy from both ends but it is the bottom half which seems to cause him the distress! We can generally burp him really well but there is not a lot we can do about his lower half except rub his tummy which doesnt seem to help.

My seven week old is being bottle fed but it seems like a fight every feed! He shakes his head back and forward and flails his arms everywhere but doesnt let go of the bottle! It usually takes about forty minutes to an hour for him to finish his feed. After that he seems to get really distressed when he has to break wind and do the toilet! Is this normal? My health visitor has said he is on the best feed and not tochange it so i am at a loss.
