breakfast food without salt or sugar?

What breakfast food would people give to 7 month old? The shop bought ones seem to have salt and sugar in them. I have made up porridge with apricot which he liked for a while but has gone of it a few days ago. I just give banana or fruit with or without natural yoghurt. any ideas?

I want to try ready brek. looked at it in the supermarket the other day and it looked ok, good idea to add fruit. ill try that. i made up the porridge with apricot this morning and used milk instead of water and ewan ate it all. so maybe he was just having a few off days..thanks for the reply
i give my little girl weetabix with milk and mashed banana, she loves it, fruit with baby rice and porride.

Hi. I had the same problem but opted for Ready Brek and add some mashed banana for flavour (or stewed apple). The HV recommended weetabix but I avoided that because of the high salt. I did find an alternative though by Hipps (the organic baby food) which is just like weetabix but specially for babies. Boots sell it, and I think Sainsburys. Sometimes he has wholemeal toast fingers with mashed banana or Laughing Cow light cheesespread.

have you tried mashing a banana into the porridge for a change? blueberries are also good, although you get really interesting nappies after - could have resurfaced a driveway with ours today :)

I take it with no replies that there arent any breakfast cereals that do not have salt or sugar??
Hi

I have started to give me 25 week old son Ready Brek in the mornings and he loves it. It has no added salt or sugar and is fortified with vitamins and iron as well as being rich in calcium. It definitely seems to be working for him. Hope this helps.
