Hi, my daughter was stillborn at 35 weeks due to a severe abruption. It happened very suddenly and without any prior warning. I nearly lost my life myself because of the amount of blood I lost. It is a very bad situation that still haunts me to this day. I have since gone on to a have a healthy boy and I am currently 7 weeks pregnant. Although I had a healthy boy it was the most worrying of my pregnancy's, I was convinced that it was going to happen again but it was just the paranoia. The doctors kept a special eye on me, I recieved extra scans and tests. I feel a bit more relaxed this time because I know I can have a healthy child, still a bit nervous. I would be aware of the warning signs (you'll find them if u google placental abruption). I hope everything goes ok and don't hesitate to go to the midwife/doctor if you are worried. My consultant said there was a 10% chance of it happening again to me, but also a 90% chance that it won't. If that's the odd's I think I'll take my chance, cuz if I had a 90% chance of winning the lottery i would definatly play. Good luck. x
Hi everybody, I had a placental apruption end of july,at 34+2 weeks, unfortunately i lost my little boy Christian, he was stillborn. I lost a lot of blood and almost ended up having hysterctomy. we are still waiting for the results from the hospital, but what they said to me at that time was that i have had a concealed apruption, no blood just tommy pains, they didnt even know what is happening at the begining.the thing is me and hubby were at the A&E couple a days before it happened, i was feeleng unwell, vomiting and diarea, but the GP there said all is fine, is upset tommy, nothing to do with baby.i wish i didnt listen to him, and went to labour ward, but i didnt, i thought he is a doctor he knows best, but we were mistaken. we are now taking a legal action against the doctor and hospital. we are so angry that he coulde have done something to save my baby, and he just send me home.i didnt have any problems until then, perfectly normal first pregnancy. we dont know what caused the apruption,i keep thinking that maybe i worked too hard, a had just accepted a promotion, i work retail, and there was a lot of walking, standing, bending and carrying staf, i tried not to lift heavy things but maybe i did, and that was the reason. is very hard loosing a baby, i think about it every day, i am still at home but i will need to go back eventualy.take care and good luck.xx
