Hi there

I'm 17 weeks +3 and dying to feel the baby move too. I woke up a couple of nights ago and thought I could feel something but haven't really felt anything else since. Try not to worry, I read the usual for first baby is 18 - 22 weeks so I'm just going to take it when it comes. Can't wait though! x

it varies and you just need to get used to the sensation, no two pregnancies are the same either so this time round might be different to previous or subsequent babies. now that you saw your baby move and made a mental note of how it felt at the time it will probably be easier to track, they won't leave you alone now! it is a funny feeling especially when just getting used to it, some say it's like butterflies in your tummy, but as baby gets bigger the movements will be clearer and you will feel the difference between feet and elbows etc. i am 39 weeks now and baby is head down so her bottom is just below my ribs, when she stretches out you can see the shape of a foot on the left side of bump!

Feeling your baby move varies from mother to mother. Typically it is between 16-20 weeks. First time mums tend to be around 20 weeks sometimes they are even a little later than this. As well as being a first time mum there are a number of other factors that can affect you feeling your baby's movements. If your placenta is lying at the front of the womb (known as a anterior placenta) you tend to feel movements later, if you are a very active person then you may miss those early flutters and if you are carrying a little more weight then you tend to be later feeling your baby's movements. What you are describing all sounds completely normal.

im 30wks and i go sum days where i dont fill the baby move at all and sum days it will kick 5x a day or 10x a day.Im not shore wherever its normal and i am worried as i as pregnant 4yrs ago and im shore i felt my daughter move alot more and felt her elbows and hands and i havent yet with this one.But it is meant 2b moving 10x a day at least so iwas told.Is ne1 else getting the same can this be normal ?
i'm either 17 or 18 weeks depending on who you listen to and i've been feeling my baby move for about the last two weeks - it feels like a bad case of butterflies. i'm probably lucky that I have quite bad adhesions in my stomach and so most things are stuck together - hence when baby moves I can feel it pulling on those - even to the state that if I am singing along to radio 2 on the way home from work it feels like a sharp kick (more likely a pull on the adhesion) until I shut up! Seems Moglet isn't so keen on Chris Evans either ha ha ha xx my friend in work is due 5 day before me and isn't sure she has felt anything yet - so don't panic - it will come! Siaran xx

I only get worried cos people keeping asking me if i've felt the baby move yet & i keep saying no & they just give me funny looks as if to say " well you should have felt it move now"
