Hiya, I'm 36 and have just started trying to get pregnant with my second child. I had my first 15 years ago when I was 21 and got pregnant within the first month of trying. I was just wondering how my age may affect conception. Are there any other mums in lateish 30's on here or older that have experienced trying to get pregnant at an older age? I'd love to know how other ladies have got on and if it really does become harder. Everything I read says that fertility rapidly declines after 35 and am beginning to get concerned.Thank you.

hey, i m 41 and i am trying for a baby, i thought i was pregnant as i had signs, the tiny bit of blood spotting in early pregnancy, darkening of the nipples and food cravings and today i came on my period, but i am still getting the cravings, so my boyfriend wonders if maybe there is a chance i might be pregnant. I dont think so though, i know you can get periods through pregnancy but i never have. I think in some respects it is harder as you get older but saying that when i was 36 i got pregnant with my son after 2 days of trying, and there are people who are 20 who find it hard, i dont think its about age, so try not to worry just try and hang in there and keep trying

Hi-Ya im 37 and had my son 19 years ago when i was 18. I had an unexpected pregnancy in july that sadly ended in a mis. From that we are now desperate to have a baby. We had thought about it 2 years ago but put it off with family stuff going on. we are on month 2, and feel a we bit desperate already. I am also diabetic and had changed medication which is given to people with pcos.I had to stop it and change to an extra insulin pen instead but im wondering if i should stop this now and go back to the other medication....im sure docs will not be so sure tho Jude xx
I know loads of women with small kids older than you so I would say not a lot of difference really. I have a friend whos 43 with 10 month old. You will get there, try and relax and enjoy it, dont stress about fertility thing, it'll be fine.xxx

hey im not even over 20 but i think when you get over 35 and have been trying for 6 months you should see your doctor and they might help you more, but i read this scary article about ivf from a doctors wife (who wrote it) and it was horrible i don't know if its true but they said that they give ivf and it can help but it can also decrease fertility and they don't tell you this because they would lose out money, i hope thats not true because i have friends on ivf and its horrible if it is true, i hope you all the luck in the world hun and im sure you will have your bundle of joy soon, im 18 and its taken me 10 months and i still haven't got anywhere so i suppose age can matter but really some women can get pregnant soon than other wether they are older or younger it just depends on the person, it could take you 7 months and me 16 months good luck hun xxx
