my baby boy is nearly 8 months old and just turns his head away when I offer him water in a sipping cup at meal times. He took it a couple of times a few weeks ago but wont even tolerate it now. I dont want to give him juice at this early stage. Im vegetarian and he eats everything I give him. any ideas?
if he is still good with his milk try putting that in his cup something tht he is used 2. if hes not used 2 drinking water or from a cup then maybe the two of them are abit weird for him xx
Hello. Make sure the sippee cup is a freeflow cup, rather than a non spill type that they need to suck from. Makes it much easier for them to drink from!
Try not to worry too much, try the Tommee Tipee's or Avent, mine Two use both, try not to make a fuss over it and he just offer it every couple of days, I had no end of trouble with my Son he eventually settled for a Avent Sipper with the Soft Spout and it had to have Handles or he would not drink anything excpet his Milk, well he has only ever had Water. His Sister came along and would not have a bar of the Avent i had to go and get Tomee Tipee's and then of course they started to try drinking from each others and then i used to just mix it up and put a driking cup in every few days and it worked. He will be fine as long as he is drinking water at the end of the day it doesnt much matter at this early stage what how he has it as long as he does. My Boy on started to want to drink from a Cup properly when he was 16mths when his Sister came along. Hope this helps Manda x0
hey have you tried giving him water in a bottle so that he gets a taste for the water first then when hes drinking that fine try the cup then? xx
