It is true!! Tyla is the girl's way of spelling it. If you put an i instead of a y it is fine though. (Tila)
Hi
i am new to this site so i appoligize in advance if i have posted in the wrong place, i sent a post a few hours ago but i cant find it now....lol
Anyway i am 30 weeks preggies with a little boy and from the very start me and my partner decided we wanted to call him Tyla spelt that way too, I have been told by people that it is the girls way of spelling it...now does it really matter, i mean he is our baby right we get to decide, but now they are saying he will get picked on as he gets older....i would love to hear your opinions....all opinions welcome
Thank you
Pesa
In the olden days they used to spell names one way, now they spell them all differently, but in the tips section on here it says dont spell normal names differently. Tiler is the proper version, it means : man who tiles floors. But the boys spell it Tyler or Tyla. Same for Tailor- Man who measures clothes, Tayla and Taylor, Spell it the way you like most, its your little cutie baby, you go throught the pain of delivering it, spell it how you want!!! I have a Brother who has a little girl called Georgia, but he spelt it Jorja, she got picked on at first but now people appreciate the difference, she stands out! My brothers little Jorja likes having her name spelt differently, so go and name Tyla, Tyla!!!
I agree with you about the fact that it is your baby and you should spell it how you want to spell it. However as a note of caution nobody has spelt any of my children's names correctly without being told first. I am hoping that this doesn't mean a lifetime of correcting people as it can get very tiresome. But I thnk that Tyla is a lovely name and wish I had heard it before as it would have been on my short list for my fourth boy.
i dont think it matters at all if your happy with it then nothing else matters like hedgewitch said you carried the baby for 9 months not them. Good luck in whatever you decide.
I don't think it matters to anyone but you. If you are happy with it then do it. I'm considering calling my girl Loren when she arrives but i just know everyone not in the know will spell it Lauren. But to me, the spelling matters and i'm keeping it that way. You do the same, you'll be kicking yourself otherwise for giving in to other folks. You carried that babba for 9 months, not them ;)
I don't think it matters at all, i think originally the name Tyler was a boys name anyway so Tyla is just a softer version. Tayla is a girls name but i wouldn't say Tyla was.
I think this is a spelling for boys and girls so i shouldn't worry, if you look at the name section on here it actually says boys!! I cant see how you would get picked on for the spelling of your name. I think its a great name. x
I have had a look around and your right, it does say boys...either way i shall spell it the way i wish.
Thank you so much for your reply, you have made me feel much better thank you
