Hi I was wondering, names like Summer, Brooke and Scarlette used to be unusal as everyone had like Emily and Amy and everything, but now everyone is calling their children quirky unusual pretty names like Scarlette.... I wanted to name my baby something unusual but not too common or rough or old fashioned or weird or made-up, I have decided on Alfie Harvey for a boy, is that Ok? But for a girl what is best out of Skye, Star, Mae and Autumn and is there anything wrong with them, what other suggestions are there? Thanks!!

hi, I like skye and Autumn. I was thinking of skye for my baby until i found out it was a little boy!!!lol so might be a bit wierd now!
Summer is lovely and i agree it would of been unusual five years ago but it is getting common now, but it is still a beautiful name.

I think all the names you said are incredibley pretty whatever you decide to name them you should just choose. Whatever you choose they're all very feminine but all got something to them that make them cute and good comeing of the toung.
hope it helps claire x

i have 4 girls all with unusual names, and everyone always gets either the spelling or pronunciation wrong, but the girls love their names as, like you say they are the only ones they know with that name (except for my third as someone copied her name a few months later!)they are unusual here but are traditional in Ireland where they hail from:-) their names are Roisin (ro-sheen) Cora (like it looks) Maia (my-a) and Deirbhile (pronounced Dervla). i am always attracted by the meanings too but i think as long as you like it then who cares what anyone thinks- just don't go too daft as your child has to live with it!

i love the name alfie for a boy just remember whatever name you give your baby they have to live with it so try not to make it 2 unusual as they may resent it later when they go through their school years
