hi ya.the period you have during your seven day break is called a withdrawal period and thats exactly what it is. you dont actually ovulate whilst your taking the pill other than the odd unlucky one who isnt trying to get pregnant.it takes a while before your body goes back to normal,the same with any contraception..roughly they say 6 months to a year for things to return to normal.as its been this long,id go back to doctors and explain whats going on.if nothing else it will put your mind at rest.even once youve had your fist period,it doesn't mean things are 'normal',it really can take a good few periods for that to be right.sorry to be a downer but just tryin to tell you so you dont get your hopes too high when that first period does arrive.hope you fall soon

hiya i came off the pill over a year and a half ago and my periods went from every 4 weeks to 8-10 weeks then never had one for 5 months .so i know how you feel when you dont get them. But dont get stressed as they will never come i finally got one 2weeks ago and hopefully thats my cycle back but now am unsure how to work out my dates of ovulation but good luck with having a baby xx

It can take quite a while for your body to get back to normal, everybody is different. I think if now it's a year and you haven't had a true period yet i would go to the doctor and just get checked out. Good luck. X

Hi all, I came off the pill and i had been on it 6 years. When i was on the pill i had a period on my seven day break without fail. So i always thought that my period was regular. But now im not on it anymore havnt been for a year now.I have been bleeding in between periods. Just wondering if this has happened to any1 else. Thanks.xx
