Monthly appointments? and stuck up community midwifes.

Hi, I'm only 17. And My community midwife was judging me just because of my age. She had ago at me because I told her I couldnt make an appointment that week because I had just started a new job and didn't want to take time off. In the end I hung up on her and now I get all my appointments at the hospital. I am A little conserned because I've been told at this stage (34 weeks) I Should be seeing somebody every two weeks for a check up but I'm still only getting monthly appointments. I'm currently getting really sharp pains shooting all across my stomach so I'm getting worried that I'm not seeing people as often as I should. All help and suggestions welcome!? xx

my community midwife is also a useless non starter! yes your appointments are usually fornightly at this point, mine are weekly (39 weeks) but as all was well at last appt i am having a week off! you can always see your gp- i certainly would if i were you if having those pains- they could be braxton hicks which is totally normal, but it is always worth checking them out! your mid wife should not be judging you at all least of all by your age- she is their to support you not pass moral judgement, I am pleased you moved all your care to hospital that is a great move- not many mums know they can do this so a great step and shows you have more about you than your midwife gives you credit for! i just came back from dr and was told my midwife should have given me my maternity exemption certificate months ago- i am due in 5 days and still haven't got it! Most midwives are great but you do get the odd one that can really make things difficult for mums- have told them at hospital if she tries to come to house to check up on me and baby i will be refusing to let her in- just so they know in advance and can make other arrangements!!
