Period question

Hi. My question is - even if the cycle length changes by a few days each time either way (mine varies between 24 and 28 days) does a period ALWAYS arrive EXACTLY 14 days after ovulation? What I would like to know is whether the leutal phase is always 14 days and variations in cycle length occur before ovulation, therefore if I know the exact date on which I ovulated does that make my period due date exactly 14 days after? - hope that makes sense!

hiya, your period should arrive 14 days after ovulation , yes. not exactly...but generally 13-15 days. i have a 37 day cycle, and ovulate normally on day 23.

although to throw a spanner in the works...we dont actually ovulate every month. only about 3/4 of the time.

also, some people rarely have a shorter leutal phase, in which they should see their doctor - but the best person to ask that question to is 'wannabemummy' as she has a book called taking charge of your fertility and is so clued up about it all it's quite amazing.

hope this helps x
Hi Dannii, thanks for your answer. I've just been out and bought a Zita West book called Zita West's Guide to Getting Pregnant and am going to study it this afternoon. I've only been TTC for a couple of months but am very impatient x
