Ovulation Monitors

I tried the ovulation kits in the past and then spoke with my fertility specialist. He said that I could continue with the ovulation tests or just use simple math to determine the best time to try to conceive. Most women ovulate on the 14th day after the start of their period and the egg only lives for 24hrs, so if you start trying on day 10 and then each or every other day until about day 15 or 16, that should cover it. That's what my doc said anyway...Sperm can survive for 72hrs! I am going to try this method again now that I have recently had surgery to remove endometiosis from my ovaries... Hopefully it will work!

Hi ashleylinda can you tell me how the Persona and the clearblue differ please? How much was your clearblue also?
Hi Mamfajane
it all about your own cycles and how long it last's for, as persona is really used for not getting pergnant and they say if your cycle is more than 35 day with persona not to use it, but i did use it and it was fine, Clearblue is 40 or more days cycle and its more for falling pregnant but still does the same job, if your buying a monitor go to ebay i got mine for £55 that was with p&p and i got test sticks for £16 for 30 test sticks witch is really good, you can also get persona sticks on ebay to as boots have put the prie up to £12.99. I would stick with the persona monitor that your freind gave you to save money and see how you get on with it cos it still will tell you when your ovulation and thats the main thing. I hope this helps but feel free to add me as a friend and if you want to know more i could help you out its good to talk to people that are going through the same as you x x

Hi girlies,
I have been trying not to try recently. I thought if i keep actively trying with hubby but not thinking about getting pregnant then i might just fall pregnant when im not expecting it. Unfortunately, it hasnt quite worked out that way. I am considering buying an ovulation montior but im not sure which one to go for. I was thinking of buying a clear blue one but people also say that persona is quite good too. Please help me choose xxx
