Hi Girls!
Well, what a relief to find you guys on here! Just been reading some of the posts and a few of my own worries are reflected in them!
I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago and am apparently 6 weeks pregnant. I went to my GP who was very unhelpful, saying that he would refer me to a midwife but that would not happen until 20 weeks!!! He also said that 1 in 4 babies are miscarried before week 12!!! Well!! I was pretty down when I left the GP, and despite my best efforts I can not get the negative thought out of my head!
I read a post earlier about not feeling pregnant; well, I am sort of at this point, but can find no one to turn to at the moment! On othr occassions I get period pain type cramps - is this normal???
I thought this was meant to be a happy time; but so far I'm just anxious about everything!
How are you all coping???
I'm only 5 weeks at the moment and nnot told the doctor yet. But so far it has been completly different to me other two pregnancies. Getting a little worried as twins are on both sides of the family and i've bloated already. Can't wait for a scan to stop my worrying.
dont panic about twins just yet. i was bloated straight away with 2nd not twins. this is my 3rd, bloated but no twins. theres twins on both sides with me too. but having said that i couldnt wait for my scan!!lol

I've got twins in my family too (Mum & Dad;s side).
So being bloated is a sign of twins??? What other differences have you noticed?
Hi to you all! I 've found a new doctors who got me a new patient appointment with a nurse (who is also a midwife). Feel much better after the appointment and everything is now a lot clearer (especially thanks to the comments taht you ALL made).

having worries and concerns is unfortunately something that plagues us all at some point- which is why we like to come on here to ask questions or have a good old moan! try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy and don't let others try and spoil it for you- no matter who they are! i was other way round- gp was great but midwife was a nightmare! speak to a diff dr if you're still worried but think you'll be ok- keep us updated? xx
Thank you so much; I'm heading off to join a new GP this week.
How far into yur third pregnancy are you?

First of all congratulations!!!! Think your GP is very unprofessional. Yes pregnancy can end in miscarriage but it can lead to a healthy pregnancy as mine both did. You should get to see your midwife before 20 weeks as there are blood tests to do. I would get on the phone tomorrow, direct to the midwife if needs be. I had period type pains before I was pregnant with my second daughter but did a test because I was late. Where I live you had to go to a specified chemist to have it confirmed then take the slip of paper to the doctor's surgery then the midwife phoned you. My midwife was lovely. I had a homebirth and it was really lucky my midwife was on call when I went into labour and she delivered my second daughter. We got on so well and I went up to see her last week on my daughters first birthday. Hope you're feeling a bit more positive. Forget what your GP said, there's no reason why you won't have a happy and healthy pregnancy. Good luck x
P.s sorry to go on and on!!!!!

Congrats to u first on your good news!
Im sorry to hear that your GP wasnt very supportive when this is meant to be the most exciting time in your life... also, i cannot understand why you are being referred to a midwife at 20wks when it is usually between 10-12weeks....if i was you i would book an appointment with another GP at d practice to get a 2nd opinion, see what he/she has to say... best of luck and let us kno how u get on - take care x
