We just paid £5 for a few piccies 5/6 i think, there was a sort of vending machine outside the room, you put your fiver in and it printed a receipt that you then gave to the sonographer. i didnt mind paying really, its a nice memory to have. i then scanned them so i kept them forever, but dont laminate ur scan pics as the heat destroys them! xxx
Hey,
In portsmouth, we pay £4 for a token which will usually get you one or two pictures, it depends a little on the sonographer and the time they have.
The thing you need to remeber is that, whilst a scan is a lovely opportunity to see your baby, it is after all a screening test, no different from the blood tests you have throughout your pregnancy. The sonographer wouldn't be doing his/her job if they placed their main focus on getting us lovely pictures. There are many things they need to check for during a scan, and many measurements they need to check, in in a busy NHS maternity unltrasound clinic they don't always have the time to focus on the experience!
Its a shame some people end up disappointed but we are very privaledged to be able to get a glimpse at our babies at all, there are many people who would never get that opportunity until their little ones arrive!
I hope you get the pictures you hope for, but just remeber, no matter how much they cost or how good they are, you can go home with peace of mind that the pregnancy is going as it should.
Best of luck to you xxxxx
