What to buy next?

Hi ladies :) hope we're all well. We've got lots of the baby essentials and now I'm at a loss at what to buy next. So far we have: cot, moses basket, pram, clothing, bedding box, drawers, couple of sheets (need lots more), breast pump, knitted blanket and a few other items that aren't exactly essential. I'm just wondering what to buy now? I know that might seem daft but there's some stuff I don't know whether we should buy or not as we may get given some stuff. Already got a bouncy chair and bits like that on the way. I'm planning on breast feeding and don't want to buy any feeding equipment as I might be tempted to pack it in if I have it there and can always buy it once she's here if I really can't manage. I was thinking of getting a baby bath or seat this week and a changing mat? Can anyone suggest any decent ones, or ones to avoid? Also, anything I should consider buying as a priority before the bath/mat? Thanx ladies xxx

Gutted! I looked everywhere and couldn't find one :( but I got one local, £3 inc. top and tail bowl :) I've had such a great week for bargains. Got 4 cellular blankets from Matalan inc. delivery for £6.95, all came with the £6 stickers still on them :) Just bought a Lily pink Maxi Cosi car seat with all the accessories for £30. Got mi changing mat for £4.85 and it's loverly. And got some gorgeous summer clothes from Mothercare on the mega cheap! Ooooh, I never even LIKED shopping til I got preggers. Bladdy LOVE it now lol. It's so exciting XD
Glad you are having fun-wow £30 for a car seat where from?? I always forget Matelan-it's huge but to get there you have to park in it's special carpark away from the other shops so I'll go to town park in usual shopping centre and forget it!! Can't wait to start getting bits together but in mean time I'm keeping busy by sorting out books and toys to put away cos my 3 yr old has outgrown them!

Oops wish someone would of told me this lol , I've bought scratch mittens & socks & quite a few baby towels eek ,, hopefully they will come in handy sometime soon lol! xx
Aww don't worry hun-some people must find them useful or they wouldn't sell them! My babies were all so skinny nothing fitted their wrists or ankles and even shoes fell off apart from those lovely leather daisy root type ones. You can always use the socks as scratch mitts-they stay on better esp if you put them over the babygro sleeves :) Also I was not fussy about getting a bit of sick on me-if you like to stay clean I guess muslins are useful!!

I got very little support when trying to feed my two and at the time didnt think to research it! Dumb I know. The advice on that site is from a breastfeeding counciler, not a midwife and its truly invaluable! Just watching a video about latching on, I knew instantly What i was doing wrong! apperently midwives cant always spot a bad latch so even tho they were telling me it was right it clearly wasnt! I also didnt know about nipple sheilds as a midwife isnt aloud to recomend them. However you should buy some as they can be a god send if you get sore and can give your nipples the break they need without you having to stop feeding.
As i say all on this site. Well worth a read xx
It's not dumb hun. If it wasn't for this site I'd be super unprepared! I'd never have known how complicated it is and how hard it can be. xxx

Don't panic hun-you can always send OH out for anything once lo is born-mine was up and down to Mothercare in the early weeks lol! Things like socks and scratch mitts and bath stuff are really not essential in the early weeks-babygros are most practical as socks fall off, esp those with fold down cuffs as scratch mitts tend to fall off too! Plain water is best for their skin. And I've never used a muslin in my life-bibs are fine or even towels with a sicky baby!xx
