My daughter didn't have choc or cake until she was one. She's 2 next month and still doesn't have sweet or lollies etc. she doesn't have fizzy drink and won't until much older (maybe 5). My youngest is 7 months and there's no way I'd give her chocolate! Although she did have one of her big sisters Pom bear crisps today! Xx
My son has had chocolate since around 7 months old. He has a little every now and again but would much prefer to munch on a banana. Coke I don't agree with but what's wrong with a fruit shoot for an under 1??
My daughter is 15 months old and we've never given her sweets of any sort. We don't eat them so it's not hard. I have no plans to giver her any soon either, I think she's never had them so she doesn't crave them. She has plenty of tasty things though, apple and cream, yogurts and fruit etc which she seems to enjoy.
my lo is almost 7 months and weaning well i dont wanna give her any chocolate yet i but the heinz baby biscuits as an alternative she loves them so we're both happy
I think it was easter last year that he first got a bit, so around 7 months, but never much (read no more then 1 or 2 little milk (white) buttons in one week) and that is still the same, much more prefer rice biscuits
I found it harder 2nd time round as Isaac sees Noah eating a milky bar after his lunch. I'm quite relaxed on the chocolate front i gave Noah his 1st taste of it when he was 11 months but Noah gave Isaac some of his Milky bar when he was just 8 months old. Couldn't be angry with him though as he thought he was being a good boy & sharing. My point is I balance it out, my boys eat lots of fruit & veg so a small milky bar every other day, I alternate it with a yoghurt after lunch, then I don't see the problem. Obviously I wouldn't give a small baby chocolate & Isaac was fully weaned by 6 & a half months. It's personal choice if you're comfortable giving LO chocolate then do it as long as you give it as part of a balanced diet. Where I live all you see are the groups of mums walking round with their babies in their buggies no more than 9 month old munching through a McDonald's & I've seen on more than afew occasions them pouring the cola into their babies bottles! That I do not agree on x
i cant really remember when they first had choc-i am completely addicted to it so i expect they snuck some in before the age of one hehe.
But they are 4.5yrs and 25 months now and they might have a bit of choc on a special occasion or perhaps once a fortnight if they are given it. my 2 yr old goes bonkers on sugar so try not to have it hangin around (avoid the meltdowns that way lol) plus he's a complete chunky monkey and weighs a ton! xxxx

they were both well and truely over 1yr when i allowed them sweets brans had the occaisional fizzy drink since the age of 2 but corey has only just started getting juice aswell as water i very rarely give them sweets they both have a tin each with sweeties in but it all depends on behaviour and how they have eaten all week i'm alittle bit strict that way but then again my neice cant eter a shop without needing to have sweets bought even if she has been really naughty and i really dont agree with that as in my veiw when it comes to sweets they are a privlidge not a right
I think around the 1 yr old mark is probs a good guide - as long as they have a healthy diet I think its fine personally I certainly never had an issue giving my lo chocolate from the advent calendar this year. She loves chocolate but also loves fruit, veg, pasta, anything really!!! If your lo is eating well then I dont see a prob after they are well established and as long as its not every day :D xx
