FAQ'S

How do I register (and why should I)?
Registering as a member of gurgle is free (and only takes one minute). Simply click on the register link at the top of the page and fill in this form. As a gurgle member we’ll be able to show you all the videos, articles and expert advice most relevant to you so you can keep track of your baby's development. We’ll also connect you to other members going through the same experiences as you are and you’ll be able to build your own network of friends.

On completing the registration form you will be sent an email with your username and password on it and an activate link you will need to press in order to confirm your account (we validate all accounts in this way in order to prevent people using gurgle to send junk mail).

NB: You will need to register (and to be logged in) in order to ask or answer questions, take part in chat, comment on articles and videos, join groups or to add people as friends.

What is my gurgle?
This window displays activity on the site that is relevant to you. Here we show you what your freinds and groups are up to, when your posts or questions are replied to and where there is new content on the site that should be of interest to you specifically. You will need to be logged in to receive this content. Click on the My gurgle window to expand this box and on each of these communications to see the relevant activity.

The Links menu has disappeared - how do I get it back?
If you have logged in and expanded your M gurgle window - your traditional navigation will now be hidden. To get it back (and minimise your My gurgle window) simply click 'Links' at the top of this box.

I’ve forgotten my username or password
Click on 'forgot your password?' link on the login page. Enter your username and email address and we'll send you an email with a new password on it.

How do I change my password?

Click on the Change Password button on your 'My Profile' page once logged in.

How do I upload an image?

Click the 'My Photos' tab once logged in. Press upload photo, attach an image and fil in this form.

Why can't my friends see an image I've uploaded?
You can see all photos as soon as you have uploaded them. All images are screened by the gurgle team and other users won't be able to see them until they have been approved. You'll know when this has happened as a button will appear on the image allowing you to use this as your profile image.

How do I add an image to my profile?
Log in and click on My Profile. Press Add image and follow these instructions. NB: You will not be able to use an image you have uploaded as your profile photo until the gurgle Team has approved it (see: Why can't my friends see an image I've uploaded? above).

How do I post a question on the site?
Click on Answers at the top of the page,  press the Ask new question button and fill in this form. All logged in members can ask questions and suggest answers.

How long will it take to get an answer?
It depends. If you've gurgle friends on the site - they will be alerted when you post a question and encouraged to respond directly.

Will experts answer my question?
Our experts will try to tackle as broad a range as possible each day. Click on the expert tab on the Answers page to see their responses by subject matter.

How do I remove an offensive comment?

Click on the exclamation mark icon next to this post and this post will be brought to the attention of the gurgle Team. If adjudged offensive the post will be removed. In extreme circumstances those posting inappropriate messages will have their account removed from the site.

Who is Nifa?
Nifa is me. All members get me as their default friend on joining the site. I'm here to explain how to use the site and to offer guidance and advice along the way.

How do I receive weekly newsletters?
On registering with the site tick the box at the bottom of the page. Our weekly newsletter will offer you a personal progress report on you and your baby, outline new content relevant to you and update you on what your freinds and groups have been up to on the site.

My weekly emails have stopped – why is this?
When your baby gets to his first birthday we will send you monthly emails instead of weekly emails – we hope you don’t mind, but baby’s growth and development slows down from one year onwards, so we are responding to the babies!

How do I stop my weekly newsletters?
Please click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of your weekly email.
