hi im melissa single mum to adam born by c sec as breach on 14th dec 2007
Hi, I'm a first time expectant mum (24 weeks today!) I'm also a research psychologist very appropriately investigating postnatal wellbeing! I work at the Univerisity of Sussex and I'm currently running an online study looking at women's memories of the birth experience, so if you fancy taking part please click on the link below or copy it into your browser.
http://139.184.162.156/memory_and_birth_study.htm
I've had approx 50 women participate so far & they have all said they enjoyed doing it & felt it was a great opportunity to put the events of the birth into perspective. I need approx another 450 women to take part, so please please please help me out. If you want to check out my research profile to confirm this is a legitimate study please either google me (search for Suzanne Foley, University of Sussex) or look me up on the University website:

hi i am sarah the mum of hannah born on the 26 th of december and i love her 2 bits she is beautiful a boxin day baby was ment 2 be born on the 14th.
Hi aps and Wendy. my name is heather and i am mummy to freya 6 and arlo 6 mths.
Arlo was also born on 5th dec, he was also a bit early, expected on 17th and weighed just 6lbs 2ozs. I was induced at 10am by my consultant who was fab and arlo arrived at 6.14pm. I was not allowed an epidural (my chosen pain relief) as i was having heparin injections and was just giving up on the gas and air and going for something stronger when i suddenly announced I needed to push! To everyone's amazement arlo arrived safe and well soon after.
Arlo had mild jaundice and had to have a few tests but it eventually went - i was told it was breastfeeding jaundice. I was exclusively breastfeeding but he went down to 5lbs 2ozs and then did not put any weight on for a few weeks so i had to go back into hospital with him (on new years eve!!)
Following a grueling few weeks of breastfeeding and expressing I finally compromised and did half and half like you Wendy. I really enjoyed the closeness of breastfeeding as i did not get to do this with my daughter but at 4 mths arlo decided he preferred to bottle and would not feed from me any more. I was devastated at first but after a few days it passed.
I am waiting for him to start waking in the night before i start weaning him but he does have some finger food while we eat our evening meal - otherwise he objects loudly to being left out. have you started weaning yet?
i am back at work in July and am also dreading it. I did not return until freya was nearly 3. let me know how it goes. I'm sure once you're there its fine and I bet your day goes really quick iknow it did for me. Make sure you make the most of your time off forget the housework and just enjoy bambam and alfie.
Hi,I am aps and mom to bambam(no need to raise eyebrows, that's his nickname, after Flinstone,LOL!).He was born on 5th of December,he was due on 28th of december, but I was getting very strong contraction and he was in breech position so I had a C-Section.He was just over 6 pound and very healthy. But after 4 days he got mild jaundice. I was so scared, but doc told me all babies get jaundice by age of 4-5 days and there is nothing to worry if bilirubin level is lower than 10/12.His level was only 6 so no treatment was required.
He is almost 5 month and exclusively breast fed.
He is 16 lb and already learned how to roll on his stomach :-).
I have to go back to work coming week and dreading the day when I have to stay at office the whole day without seeing him :-(.
hi aps. My name is Wendy and I'm mum to little Alfie. He's 22wks old. As with you he wasn't supposed to arrive until the 28th Dec but being impatient he came on the 5th. My back waters broke on the Mon so had to stay in hospital and eventually got induced on the wed morning. My main waters only burst when his wee head came out. A relief I can tell you.lol
I too was breastfeeding exclusively for the first 3mths but have gradualy introduced some formula. Still feed throught the night myself and 1st in morning. Quite proud of myself because it was really difficult to get the hang of it. I still enjoy it so not ready to give up altogether.
I'm not back to work until Aug so trying to enjoy as much as I can. My oldest boy was only 13wks when I returned to work.(he's now 14yrs old) Don't know how I managed it. Will be harder to leave Alfie I think.
Good luck to you. Am sure you'll enjoy getting some adult company away from baby talk.x
