I've given up alcohol and avoid passive smoking...what else can I do to increase my chances of conceiving?

HI everyone. our daughter is 20 months and we have been trying to conceive another baby for the last 8 months. We tried everything, using ovulation kits every month, cutting out alchol around the ttw etc, and I was getting very worried (our daughter was concieved in the first month so we did not know how lucky we were). Then I discovered the "sperm meets egg plan or SMEP" on another forum and tried it last month.... last Wednesday we got out much wanted Positive Pregnancy test:-) !!!!!!!!!! Apart from moving totally to decaf tea it was the only thing we did different and it obviously worked. The link is http://www.pregnancyloss.info/sperm_meets_egg_plan.htm and a summary of the plan is below.

- Try" every other night starting Day 8
- Buy 10 ovulation predictor kit sticks
- Begin ovulation testing on Day 10
- When test is positive, "try" that night, plus two additional nights in a row
- Skip one night, then do one last "try"
- then stop! and start the TWW

Good luck everyone and lots of baby dust

So here's what I know so far... Weight seems to be a key factor with conceiving, also stress levels and diet & exercise. Taking folic acid is a good idea and I've heard some sexual positions can assist with conception. Apparently getting your partner to drink pineapple juice every day increases his sperm count and there are other foods that are high in certain nutrients that are linked with fertility. One lady I spoke to told me she had read up on an old wicca ritual where she bathed in morning dew and drank water left outside during a full moon, I never did find out if she did fall pregnant but hey, each to their own. I, personally, am a strong believer in fate. If its not happening to you then maybe this is just not your time, everything happens for a reason. Im sure you've all heard about someone who managed to conceive after they just 'gave up trying.' It will happen. So hang in there ladies and good luck to you all! xx

Hi , I am 29 in June and have been trying for 6 months to fall for a baby and still nothing . I was put on the pill at 16 as i had very bad periods . I had taken 5 different contraceptive pills by the age of 25 when i said to my self enough is enough . I had awful headaches and just generally did not feel well for a long time , so came off my contraceptives and didnt have periods for about 2 years after . i would see a show one month and then not see again for 4 - 5 months . it was horrendous , but now after all that time im am having periods regularly and trying for a baby . Its is very challenging for me to have the baby i dream off but one day it will happen . I just wish i was not on the pill so young and for so long as it has made it harder for me to fall pregnant . good luck to everyone , Louise x
