My son had the jabs without any problems. Was I nervous? Yes. Was I prepared to risk his life if he got measles, mumps or rubella? No.

It was an easy descison. I took a risk based approach. No real evidence of autism vs possibility of a life threatening illness.
I am newly pregnant and now that thought has crossed my mind about what choice I will make when deciding to vaccinate my child...I think without question, I will definitely vaccinate my child. I think benefit of the vaccine outweighs the risk of possible autism. Those vaccines were created for a reason and if your not a health care professional you should carefully think about those REAL dangers that are more likely to harm your child than those more rare instances of autism...etc...That's just my opinion. I will just rely on faith and pray that my choice to vaccinate won't lead to any disabilites caused by the vaccine. Afterall, I had them and I turned out just fine!

Hi - it's quite a dilemma isn't it. We decided we felt too uneasy about the MMR given all the controversy and having worked with many autistic children. You can't turn back time. We also weren't happy with our daughter potentially developing a life threatening illness so we settled for the individual jags. This does mean having 3 jags instead of one but we just gave her a treat to eat straight as the needle went in and she hardly noticed. We have a baby just about to turn one and will be doing the same thing again for her.

If you had lived pre - vaccines and watched your child die of measles I think you might have given anything for a vaccine to prevent it - get real - this is not a little rash this is a killer and the more people that choose not to vaccinate the more likely it is that children under one will catch this disease - how many children will die before parents get the message? it's hard to watch them inflict pain on your child - but it doesn't last long - and they are protected from life threatening and dibilitating disease - I didn't like my daughter having open heart surgery - I did it because I knew it would save her life.
If can can get your hands on the documentary Vaccines: The Hidden Truth - it will open your eyes. I watch it last night and even though I had my 1 yr old vaccinated so far I'm now considering not having my next child vaccinated at all. What is good about this documentary is that is does actually contain statstics on, amongst other things, how many people/childern have REALLY been saved by being vaccinated (95% of the people who got measels during an outbreak were vaccinated, if I recall) as well as the increase in ADD/autism/learning difficulties since these vaccines have been introduced. It also covers what these vaccines actually contain and the great many side effects these ingredients have that doctors & parents aren't told about as it would kill the billion dollar industry that is vaccines. I'm not saying don't immunise, I'm just saying think twice about what foreign substances you are introducing into your young child.
