Oh dear Christmas came and out came the pickled onions, cheese and crackers - I just love them!
Anyone else had a lovely time with food this Christmas?
I haven't been tracking my points for a while as had a few things stressing me out but have been back to WW and total weightloss is 21 and half pounds.
This means I have 17lbs to go until I reach my goal weight, which will be pre both pregnancies weight and I can't wait. Realistically I could lose this healthily in around 4 mths and how cool would that be!
I never thought I'd get this far even if it has taken 7mths of sticking to the plan and then being a bit naughty now and again. In fact I think it's good to get anywhere at all when you start out as a mum with a newborn and all that goes with that.
They have a new program at WW called the Discovery Plan which aims to get you to think about what you're eating not only in terms of points value but what actually fills you up and I've found a few foods that I'd rather have now.
I think that losing the weight gradually has helped to reduce my jelly belly without it going all wrinkly...that and loads of Nivea cream!!
If anyone has any great recipes to feed mum and baby that's not too fattening, I'd love to hear from you x
Hi i am 3weeks away from my edd and would love some tips on how to lose weight quickly but safely post pregnancy, i am planning on breast feeding which i hear helps anyway but is there any tips on fitting in time for excercise and eating well?
Hi lillybell08! Any time now, how exciting!!!
If you joined WW you would answer a few short questions to decide on how many points you need to eat each week so lose a little weight (1-2 pounds recommended loss each week). One of the questions is do you breastfeed, if you do then you need to eat more to maintain a healthy milk supply for your baby. I'd bear this in mind no matter what weight loss plan you choose.
Make sure you eat a well balanced diet and try to limit caffeine as this filters through to your breastmilk (as does alcohol). This should ensure both you and baby are getting what you need in nutrients. You don't want to feel anymore tired than you need to!!
TIP; A friend of mine kept a bowl in the living room with small heathly snacks to grab when you don't have much time, such as grapes or other fruit. Especially handy if you fancy a snack while you're sitting feeding! Keep a bottle of water handy to as you'll get thirsty breastfeeding and will also help you to lose weight!
After birth you should get a 'Fitness for Women' leaflet on the ward and this will have some basic exercises you can start to follow when you're ready...the stomach hollowing can be done sitting or standing so that's a good one to do. I'd recommend Pilates once you're out and about as this helps tone your core muscles and helps prevent back ache. Some leisure centres have a creche with fully qualified staff that you can use while you go to a class.
Hope this helps? Good luck and hope you'll let us know how you are after baby arrives xx

Hi everyone, hope you are all ok. Last week I went back to WW after 5 weeks off and I'd put 2 half pounds on, which I didn't think was bad.
This week I have lost 3 half pounds so back on track and feel loads better for starting again. Total weight loss since April 2008 is 20 pounds. Slow but steady.
Before pregnancies I was size 10/12 (mostly 12!!!) but went upto size 16/18. Now I'm a very comfortable size 16 and soon can see me getting into my size 14 clothes again which will be brilliant.
I'd recommend to anyone wanting to lose a bit if weight to join something like WW as it gives you motivation and understanding of why we eat like we do, comfort eating, eating snacks when you don't have much time being a mum, that sort of thing. Plus you can meet some good friends there too which has helped me loads! Good luck everyone xx
