My little girl is 29 months and has walked on her tiptoes since she first started walking at 14months. It wasnt really a problem when she was younger but now that shes older and wanting to be faster and more independent, she has become very clumsy and she restricts herself from doing really active tasks as she knows she is going to fall and hurt herself!
We saw the physio who recommended casts on both her feet for a week. This didnt stop Charley walking on her tiptoes but made the flexibility and range more available. She has to go back to the hospital next week to be measured for splints as she now rolls using her instep when she attempts to walk on flat feet.
Well Caitlin would not co-operate with the specialist so he said to give her 6mths as she is only 15mths and come back as she got too distressed. Hopefully she will naturally make some improvements but my partner walked one foot on tip-toes until he was six then they operated on the leg and realesed his tendents. However they have looked at hers and don't feel her's are tight.

Hi,
My daughter constantly walked/stood on her tip toes and I was getting really worried. She wouldn't walk herself, or stand properly and really struggled. Then just one day out of the blue the heels went down and that was it, standing walking, running. Everyone kept telling me that it will come naturally but I didn't believe them and they were all right so don't worry and just keep encouraging them to put their heels down.
At what age did your daughter start to walk? My daughter is always trying to stand on her tip toes. She does this a lot in her baby entertainer and also if I hold her up with my hands. She's a roller rather than a crawler at the minute and hasn't made any attempts to walk along the furniture but am not worried as she's still got plenty of time yet.
Well she has been seen by a peadiatrician and she has extra lactisity in her hips and feet so goes beyond 180oc. She is seeing a bone specialist next week and starting physio. She saw a podiatrist but they didnt deal with babies. She can cruise now but still falls over, very wobbly, cant really stand on her own and when holding your hands walks leaning forward, mainly on tiptoes. She has put her foot flat at times though.
