Hi Hun. Sorry for my absense-- I've had computer probs!!!

Well done for wanting to quit and I am so sorry about your Mum.

I think the first port of call would be with your midwife-- she can advise how to do it when you are pregnant!!!! Just take one day at a time. Choose a day tostop and get through that day, then the next-- the longer you do it-- the more you can realise you can!!

Take care Lots of Love xxxx

hello guys, been so busy just lately with hols and work, haven't been able to get on here. not many posts on here lately, just thought i'd ask if everyone is ok?! bad news, haven't stopped smoking yet, but i've been talking to midwife and other people and decided on another approach now, instead of just quitting, causing undue stress on myself and the baby as i've been smoking for so long now, i'm going to cut down using the extinction way, one week, not allowed to smoke for a certain hour in the day, say, 7am-8am, then the next week, another hour on top, say after tea, 6pm-7pm, then the next week another hour on top my lunch time 1pm-2pm, eventually in 16 weeks, i would of stopped altogether, i know it seems like a long time but it gives me and my baby a month before birth of being a non smoker, i think over all, this way would cause alot less damage than just suddenly stopping. what do all of you think about this, your honesty really would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for all your help. Xx

Hi All

Well done for making the descision to stop smoking!!! Thats the hardest part-- for me it was anyway!!!
Leesa. I think for you, it would be good if you could chat to your midwife and get advice from a medical perspective. As i don't know whether you can uses patches or gums!!

Welshangel, thats great advice about the nicotine rub!!! Could you post where to find it.

Hi everyone.
Thankyou for the kind words and the encouragement. Nearly two weeks ago I got up after a long night at work and just didn't smoke! It's the weirdest thing! I don't even feel like one - although I am having to go to the gym a bit more cos I keep eating!!!
Don't worry ness you can do it! See if you can find some of that nicotine hand rub stuff! It's bound to help - if I start getting bad cravings again, that's what I'm gonna get!
Hope you're all well!
