A group for Mums or potential Mums who are/were in the teaching profession. As a Mum-to-be teacher I really don't know how I'm going to fit work around my bundle of joy when/if I go back. Any news, views or comment, please post!

Me and my big mouth.....finished work friday and gave birth before the evening was up! I should have stopped work earlier but hey-ho, longer time to be spent with my bundle of joy.

you;ll be suprised at how you manage. I work in reception and managed full time up to 36 wks, with my first. i left at feb half term, which was a lovely time to finish. Now i am back working part time and due to leave beginning of december.... I feel bad for the kids i'll be leaving, as they'll just have got used to me b4 someone else takes over. At least i get out of most of the endless nativity!!!
Last time for the carpet sessions I often said "you've got to be quiet else you'll wake the baby up in my tummy!!" The kids were really cute about it all!

Good luck - keep me posted how you're getting on.
Hello,
Didn't realise there were so many teachers on this site! I thought I'd made a group that nobody would join.....how exciting!
35 weeks now - 1 week left at work and I'm really struggling. I think I should have stopped now as I'm a bit useless. The baby is 4/5 engaged and walking around in very difficult. I just want to be finished....but then again... it means I'm closer to giving birth.....AAAHHHH!! LOL. I don't want to leave my lovely kids with another teacher :-(
How are you getting on?

I am 5 months pregnant and am amazed at how helpful the kids can be. They are handing out the books and even pick things up from the floor, I don't bend so well in the middle. Their curiosity is wonderful and they seem genuinely interested so I'm happy to answer any of their questions.
Although it seems ok for now by Friday I was exhausted and that is just the end of the first week. I am wondering how I am going to manage when I get even bigger! I leave at Christmas so if anyone has any suggestions of how I can make it to the end of term please?!
Cheers

Hi. My little boy is 6.5 months now and i have just loved being at home with him, and i actually feel quite depressed at the thought of going back to work and leaving him in a nursery. this has been my dream come true and now i have to give it all up, for stressy days and only seeing my little boy for a few hours in the evening. When will i find time to do the endless paperwork that used to take up evenings and weekends???I am planning to do childminding or if i could find someone to do a baby share, i would consider going back part time. Either way, i have to go back full time from November until whenever i get released which is probably March. Just wondering how other full time teachers cope???

Hi, I was also a Y1 teacher with 30 little 'darlings' in my class, I was trying to get pregnant for 2 long years.... have you noticed how lots of teachers have a bit of a struggle trying to conceive? I blame it on stress!! In the end, I discovered I had PCOS and Endemetriosis, but the reason Ive messaged you is just to say that I DID get pregnant and so will you!! My son is now 7mths old, I left on Maternity in Feb, he was born in March and was def worth the wait. And now, to my complete and utter surprise (as my periods never came back), Ive discovered we are expecting our 2nd child and Im 2 months gone!!! (its because Im not working and Im 'chilled' lol)
Have you had any investigations yet? If not, go see your GP, they may be able to help, but it will happen eventually and it will be worth the wait :-) x x x
Yes, i've had the first lot of blood tests which were all clear, just waiting for hubby to have his, if that's clear i'm going to get referred to a specalist. 4 of us got married last year, and 2 are already pregnant-I just hate waiting. x
