Well I had an appointment with the hospital today (which I had strangely been looking forward to?. It seems that although they previously suspected PCOS they have now changed their mind?? - which although confusing is good news. I asked about metformin however he thought it best to keep as I am and see what happens. So heres hoping third time lucky :-)

Hi, Thanks for your comment. I don't worry about getting pregnant as I have become pregnant twice in the last year then lost the babay each time. When you keep suffering miscarriages then get told by your GP that people who have PCOS have a higher m/c rate it does not fill you with the greatest of confidence! I am not stressed by it just sad.
Hi, am so sorry about your miscarriages. Yes i was told the same thing when i was pregnant. I have now two boys. My eldest is going to turn four in August and my youngest is now 16 months. I read in America they treat women with PCOS with Metformin which is a medication for diabeties to control HBA1c. There is some doctors in this country who actual have started prescribing it. As America claims women with PCOS have greater chance of getting pregnant with it and remain pregnant with this medication (but the must take the medication throughout their pregnancy) There is a website i used to help me learn more about PCOS if your intrested. http://pcos.insulitelabs.com/index.php

Hello. I was diagnosed with PCOS when i turned nineteen. I have never been treated for PCOS to help me to conceive but i was lucky in the sense i have PCOS in one of my ovaries. I was not given much information about this condition just that if i planned to get pregnant i will need medical help. How ever i never really got upset about it or worried as was not planning on having kids for some time. I got married at the age of 25 and decided i would not use any form of contraception as i will be having probs to get pregnant. 5 months latter i found out i was pregnant. I was shocked and thought i was reading the pregnancy test wrong..... 4 tests latter i was still pregnant. All i can say is you need to relax about PCOS when women start to stress more they have more problems in conceiving. I have a few other friends who have the same problem. Its hard getting there sometimes but you will get there eventually. Good Luck!

Hi. I was diagnosed with PCOS last Juen/ July after my doctor referred me for an external and internal ultrasound. My doctor was really understanding and after trying to lose weight, I went back and he did some blood tests. My hormones were apparently not right so I was referred to a consultant at the hospital in January of this year. Went for my first appointment January 20th & was referred for more blood tests to check ovulation & partner to check his sperm levels. Never got to do these as got my BFP January 30th!!!!!

To be honest I don't really knew the extent of my PCOS as it wasn't my doctor who gave me the results and he kept saying look at the hand out when I asked any question. This was really unhelpful and ended up in tears. The consultant was really good & extremely positive that I would get pregnant. Definately a good idea to have a list of the questions you want to ask particularly about what is going to happen as it's kind of information overload when your at the hospital.

Fingers crossed everything goes ok for us both
