hi,i am 18 weeks pregnant and have decided not to have the vaccination, there have simply not been enough tests and i have been reading some very disturbing reports about what this vaccination contains,netmums.com has some interesting chat from here and usa.Have chatted with midwife and she isn,t urgeing me to have this done,i agree with you guys as i am also taking my vitamins, keeping my hands very clean and have a good diet,i also have 3 other children between 7 and 13 and we are encouraging them to use tissues for sneezing and plenty of hand washing. I am not prepared to risk my babies long term health or mine. Emma.
Hi, I am 35 weeks pregnant and tick all the boxes for the jab ie in last trimester and front line nhs staff. My husband and I have talked about the jab and unless things dramaticly change have decided not to have it. Mainly because the jab has not been around long enough for any side effects to show and also when i saw my midwife I thought she would push for me to have it, however she just said it was up to me, which suggested to me that she wasn't that sure either. I'm trying just to get on with things although it is a worry and i feel that its such a shame as you should be enjoying your pregnancy not worrying everytime someone sneezes!!! xxxx
Hi - I also was invited by my GP to have the vaccine. In addition I work for the NHS so they are also encouraging people to have it. I have also decided to decline. I understand that this is a risk but I feel at least more informed about that risk whereas I have no idea of the short or long term effects on the baby in particular of having the vaccine. I am hoping that my general good health and food and vitamin intake will be enough to see me through.
I received a phonecall today from the doctor's offering me the swine flu jab and I decided to decline aswell. I spent some time reading up on it and for me there was just not enough proof that it was safe. I am 35 weeks pregnant & have a healthy diet & take vitamin supplements so hopefully I will avoid the flu for the next few weeks. It is a difficult decision but I think the right one for now. It's interesting to see others have turned down the vaccine aswell.
Hi there
We are worried about it too! I am booked in for the vaccination on Thursday but am still not sure whether to have it or not. The receptionist at my doctors said they cannot offer any advice on possible risks/side effects from the jab. She told us to look on the NHS website which we did & I also looked on other internet websites. All of the advice is conflicting ... some say safe, others not safe. So hard to know what to do for the best. I was 12 weeks pregnant on Friday 6th November so only just into my second trimester. If you hear anything then please let me know! I hope all is ok with you and the baby :)

Hi there
I'm equally worried and agree that there isn't really enough information out there to make an informed decision. I'm 20 weeks pregnant and whilst my partner is keen for me to have the vaccination once I receive my invite, I'm not as keen. It's terribly confusing. I am one out of 7 friends who are all due next March/April and none of us at this point are going ahead with the vaccine - but worried if we're making the right decision or not.
I have spoken with a friend who is a GP and also pregnant - she is choosing not to have the vaccination, as even as a medical professional she seems to think there just hasn't been enough testing and the vaccination has been rolled out so quickly. I'm trying to remain rational in my thinking about this - but I keep thinking that they told women years ago that thalidomide was safe too, and that's what concerns me about the swine flu vaccine.
Very grateful to hear any other advice/news on this subject!
Good luck to you all in your pregnancies.
